Computer maker Lenovo is set break an important price barrier in the Philippines as it prepares to introduce a personal computer aimed at entry-level users, a ranking official of the company said.
In a press briefing, Lenovo’s president for Asia Pacific and Japan David D. Miller said the company would bring to the Philippines -- on a test-market basis -- a PC priced below $200 per unit. (Less than P10,000 at current exchange rates.)
He said this would be done “within the year.”
Lenovo, one of the world’s fastest growing manufacturers of PCs and laptops, is the maker of the highly successful Thinkpad series of laptops which it acquired from industry giant IBM more than two years ago. (read more)
